Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have already laid down a plan on how to sack head coach Mariano Barreto at the end of the season.

The Portuguese trainer has been in charge of the Kumasi-based giants for only three months following his appointment in March 2021.

Kotoko’s hierarchy have not been impressed with the performance of the former Ghana Olympic Team head coach after the Porcupine Warriors lost out on the title chase to big rivals Hearts of Oak.

According to sources close to the Ghana Premier League record winners the club will not engage the services of the coach at the end of the season. Barreto is expected to leave the shore of the country at the end of the season to his native Portugal.

The sources further reveals that Barreto would not be asked to rejoin the Kumasi-based side for the start of the 2021/22 league season.

Kotoko’s management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah has already planned the appointment of a new coach to replace the tactician who guided Ghana to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
